Kume was one of our favorite Islands to visit. We could get there by 4 hour ferry or 30 minute plane ride, we chose the latter. Kume is known for it's tatami rocks which look manmade like the tatami mats in Japanese houses but are actually natural. We had a hotel across from the beach and had fun collecting sand dollars, soaking up the sun and relaxing at the Bada Haus Spa. We especially liked the sand because Okinawa has mostly coral based beaches.
